Former Seychelles College caretaker, Plerre Orphe, passes away
PIERRE ORPHE, well known and loved by former Seychelles College students has passed away. Pierre, as he was affectionately known, lived within the College campus with his family in the stone house that has been transformed into a takeaway shop.
People who moved around Mont Fleuri during the seventies will vividly remember Pierre pushing a diesel powered lawn mower to keep the present playing field well-trimmed, in much better shape than it is today. Many well-known personalities from the Speaker of the Assembly, its members, ministers, opposition politicians, businessmen and many others who were students of the college have interacted with Pierre in some way or another.
The funeral service will take place at the Good Shepherd Church, Mont Fleuri, on Saturday the 21 at 10 am.
The Weekly sends its sympathies to the family and friends of Mr Orphe.
